Narrowboats




You can see a lot of narrowboats from the train travelling from Reading to Exeter alongside the Kennet and Avon canal, and some flights of locks are visible too.

The Northern Reaches of the Lancaster Canal were cut off in 1968 when the building of the M62 severed the canal in three places. There is a project underway to restore the canal for navigation, eventually all the way up to Lake Windemere.
